Team roles and access
Audience
Use this page if you manage who can use a VDO workspace.
Workspace roles
VDO uses tenant roles for workspace membership. The main roles are owner, admin, member, and viewer.
Owners and admins can manage higher-risk workspace settings. Members and viewers have narrower access.
Invite a team member
- Open the team area in VDO.
- Choose Invite.
- Enter the email address.
- Choose the role.
- Send the invite.
Room access
Rooms can be open to the team or restricted to selected members. Use room settings when a review should only be visible to a smaller group.
Computer access
Computers can be organized into groups. Group access can be assigned with roles such as admin, user, or viewer.
Common failures
A user can sign in but cannot see a room. Check the room access settings.
A user can see Computers but cannot control a machine. Check the machine group access role.
The last owner cannot be demoted. Keep at least one owner on the workspace.
