VDO Remote Agent getting started
VDO Remote Agent runs on the computer you want to access. VDO Workstation is the remote-desktop client on the operator's Mac; browser access is also available. Neither host agent requires VDO Streamer to share a desktop.
Choose the host agent

Use the exact Linux release and desktop pairing. RHEL, AlmaLinux, CentOS Stream, Ubuntu, Fedora 42, KDE, LightDM and Rocky Wayland are not current Linux support targets.
The native VDO Workstation client requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later on Apple Silicon. A computer can appear online before its display capture and input permissions are ready.
Get a registration code
- Sign in to VDO as a workspace admin.
- Open Computers, then Settings.
- Generate or copy the registration code for the workspace that owns the host.
- Keep the code private. It enrolls computers into that workspace.
Install and check readiness
Follow Set up the macOS Agent or Set up the Linux Agent. Confirm that the computer is online and its capture and input are ready before connecting.
Register the host once. Linux updates preserve its existing machine credentials; do not delete them to repair an update.
Connect from the operator's computer
Use Connect to a workstation for browser and native macOS client steps. Disconnect normally when finished. Registration codes enroll hosts; they are not operator sign-in credentials.
For picture review with collaborators, use VDO Sessions and a Streamer. Remote desktop capture and a colour-managed review feed are different workflows.
