Connect to a workstation
Audience
Use this page if you have access to a registered workstation in VDO Computers.
Outcome
You open a remote workstation session in the browser and can see the host desktop.
Steps
- Sign in to VDO.
- Open Computers.
- Search for the machine or filter by group.
- Check the status beside the machine name.
- Click the machine row to connect.
- If the machine is offline, open the detail page and check the last status.
- If VDO reports capture unavailable, review capture readiness before retrying.
- When the session opens, wait for connection setup to finish.
- Click the remote window before testing keyboard, mouse, or clipboard behavior.
- Use the toolbar to adjust fullscreen, quality, bitrate, display, audio, input, and stats.
Expected result
The browser shows the remote desktop. The toolbar reports live FPS, RTT, bitrate, transport, resolution, codec, and packet loss.
Common failures
Machine is offline. Check the machine detail page for last heartbeat and status.
Capture unavailable. The host may not have a capturable display, or macOS Screen Recording readiness may need attention.
Connection failed. Refresh the Computers page and retry after confirming the machine is online.
Input does not work. Click inside the remote window, then retry. Fullscreen can improve keyboard capture where the browser supports it.
Clipboard does not sync. Clipboard sync can be disabled by workspace policy or blocked by browser permission until the remote window has focus.
