Set room password and access

Audience

Use this page if you own a room or manage reviewer access for a workspace.

Outcome

The room has the intended password state and, for Editorial rooms, the intended team member access.

Steps

1. Open Rooms.
2. Open Room Settings for the room.
3. To add or change a password, enter the new password and save.
4. To remove a password, use the empty-password removal flow shown in the room settings UI, then save.
5. Share passwords separately from room links.
6. For Editorial rooms, use Room Access to select which team members can join, then save access.
7. If no Editorial room members are selected, the room remains available to all team members.

Expected result

Browser viewers are prompted for a password only when the room has one. Editorial room access reflects the selected team members.

Common failures

A viewer has the link but not the password. Send the current password through a trusted channel.

A stale password was shared. Save the intended password again and resend it.

A team member is missing from Room Access. Add the person to the workspace team first.

The password control is unavailable. The workspace or plan may not have that feature enabled.

Native player codes were rotated but old instructions were not updated. Send the latest room key and stream code.
