Register the computer running your applications with its host agent. The operator connects through the browser or VDO Workstation on macOS after enrollment and readiness checks.

Get the workspace registration code

Sign in as a workspace admin.
Open Computers > Settings.
Generate or copy the registration code.
Keep the code private and use it only for hosts that belong to this workspace.

Install the correct host agent

macOS: download VDO Remote Agent from Downloads, move it to Applications, launch it and enter the registration code. The Apple Silicon host requires macOS 13 Ventura or later. Complete Screen Recording and Accessibility setup.
Linux: open Computers > Install, select the exact distro and use its generated command with sudo. Current targets are x86_64 Rocky 8/9 with GNOME/GDM X11 and Fedora 43/44 with GNOME/GDM Wayland. Approve the normal Fedora host picker when requested.

Follow Set up the macOS Agent or Set up the Linux Agent for permission, maintenance and release limits. Do not install the client in place of a host agent or run an update against an occupied workstation.

Confirm the computer is ready

Return to Computers and find the host.
Check online status, then capture and input readiness. Online status alone does not prove usable video or input.
Rename the machine and assign its access group if your team uses groups.
Follow Connect to a workstation for a first connection.

Common problems

No registration code. Ask a workspace admin to generate it.

Host not listed. Confirm that its agent is running, the code belongs to the correct workspace and the network allows VDO traffic.

Linux install refused. Check the exact distro/desktop pairing. If an existing service is running, arrange an idle maintenance window; do not interrupt its viewer to bypass the refusal.

Mac online but not ready. Finish the host's Screen Recording and Accessibility approvals.

Linux updates preserve the enrolled machine's credentials. Do not delete credentials or repeatedly create machines to repair an update.
