macOS hosts
Install VDO Remote Agent on an Apple Silicon host running macOS 13 or later, then grant Screen Recording and Accessibility. The agent stays on the machine running your applications. The native Workstation client runs on the operator’s Apple Silicon Mac and requires macOS 14 or later.

Linux hosts
Use x86_64 Rocky 8 or 9 with GNOME/GDM X11, or Fedora 43 or 44 with GNOME/GDM Wayland. Approve Fedora’s normal host-side picker. Read the Linux setup article for idle updates and explicit release qualification limits.

A reference feed alongside the desktop
On supported Linux hosts with separately qualified Blackmagic or NDI hardware, select a reference input as a separately encoded stream. The native macOS Workstation client receives it alongside the desktop, rather than using desktop capture as the reference image. Basic VM desktop checks do not qualify this I/O path.
